Gratuities to be Automatically Applied on All Disney Cruise Ships

Disney Cruise Line has decided to go forward with auto-application of gratuities on all ships after the success of the test run on the Disney Magic.

To make the guest experience more enjoyable, gratuities will be added on embarkation day. The suggested amount will be charged for the head server, server, assistant server and stateroom attendant.

When will this be taking effect?
Disney Magic - already
Disney Fantasy - April 21, 2012
Disney Wonder - April 22, 2012
Disney Dream - to be determined

How will these be charged?
You can pre-pay the gratuities at time of booking or at finally payment. If guests choose to wait until boarding, Disney will give you a letter at check-in letting you know that your onboard account will show an automatic charge for this.

Do I have to pay the amount suggested?
Guests will have the ability to modify (increase or decrease) the amount by visiting Guest Services Desk.

The 15% gratuity that is automatically added to any bar, beverage, wine and deck-service receipt will remain the same.
