Disney Chefs Named in the James Beard Awards 2012

Receiving the James Beard Foundation Award is one of the highest honors for chefs in North America. The award covers every aspect of the culinary world that you can think of from chefs to restauranteurs to cookbook authors. This year two chefs from Disney restaurants have been recognized for their efforts in culinary excellence.

Scott Hunnel
Scott Hunnel of Victoria & Albert's at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa was named one of the semi-finalists for Best Chef in the South. This isn't the first nomination for Hunnel. He was also nominated in 2007, 2008 and 2009. In 2008 he was name "Culinary Professional of the Year" by Santé magazine. Hunnel focuses on fresh, seasonal ingredients inspired by his culinary journeys.

Victoria & Albert's has received the AAA Five Diamond Award for the past 11 years and has Forbes Travel Guide's four star rating.

Wolfgang Puck
Wolfgang Puck of Wolfgang Puck Dining Room, Cafe and Express is receiving the James Beard Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award. It's hard to argue that there is anyone more deserving of this award. Puck has revolutionized the way Americans think about food. Being a culinary icon for more than 30 years he's had a long-lasting impact on the culinary world. He's a multiple James Beard Award winner, restuaranteur of 20 fine dining restaurants as well as several locations of Wolfgang Puck Express and Wolfgang Puck Bistro and 7 time cookbook author. To boot he's an entrepreneur with food items available at grocery store and available through HSN cookware, small appliances, accessories and tableware. If that isn't enough, he's the official caterer of the Academy Awards.
