Review: Chef Mickey's Breakfast

There is just one place at Walt Disney World where you can meet and eat with the Fab Five, Chef Mickey's at Disney's Contemporary Resort. Just a monorail ride away from Magic Kingdom you'll find Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto in their kitchen whites.

Once you arrive you'll receive a ticket to get your picture in front of a Chef Mickey's photo screen, which will be presented to you during your meal. It can be purchased for an additional charge.

Ambiance
Located in the atrium area of the Contemporary Resort, you can see the Monorail travel through on its way to the Magic Kingdom. Since the restaurant isn't enclosed like The Wave there is a lot of light that shines into the restaurant. The buffet is set up for easy access with plenty of open space to move around.

Menu
Chef Mickey's breakfast buffet offers several traditional and some Disney favorites. You'll find a premium fruit bar with assorted yogurts and fruit. A cereal bar including hot oatmeal. Pastries such as bagels, muffins, danishes and more. Various specialty breakfast items like Pluto's cheese blintz, Goofy's vegetable lasagna, Minnie's breakfast pizza, buttermilk biscuits and gravy, bacon, sausage, eggs and of course, Mickey Mouse waffles among many others. Make sure to save room for ice cream - there is a sundae bar!

Food/Drink
With a variety of breakfast foods it's hard to go wrong. The hot food was hot, cold food cold and everything was fresh. The pastries, cheese blitz with blueberry sauce and fresh fruit all make for a great breakfast dessert if the sundae bar isn't for you.

Service
Our server was friendly, helpful and quick. We never once had to ask for refills on our coffee or orange juice. She knew when to take plates away and bring more drinks.

Overall
Good food, great service, and character interaction with the Fab Five, without having to wait in a long line, makes this a great breakfast choice. If you are looking to have breakfast before heading to Magic Kingdom this is a perfect spot since it's just a monorail or short walk away.

  1. My daughter has said this is her favorite place to eat breakfast. I really like this too though it's not really my favorite. I have to agree the food is good though :)
