Greatest Disney Moment Over the Past Year

This month I was challenged to share my greatest memory over the past year. This year has been incredible with many wonderful memories.

Chad from Days in the Park - Disneyland
D23 Expo and meeting up with great Diseny friends and fellow bloggers like Chad (Days in the Park), Sarah (Magical Days with the Mouse), Natalie (Meet the Magic), Rosemary (Finding Mickey), Shelia (Cooking Underwriter), Big Bubba (Sorcerer Radio Disneyland Corespondent) and many more.

Aljon, Jeff, Natalie and Spidey
Sorcerer Radio 10th Anniversary Trip Meet where I met up with so many friends and lisenters including fellow Music City Mouseketeers.

Dinner at Napa Rose! The food is phenominal, service is impeckable and the restaurant is beautiful. My favorite dining experience at Disenyland, easy.

Club 33 with Martha Cognac
Dining at Club 33 with great friends Chris and Martha Cognac. There is nothing better than great company to make a meal perfect.

But I'll have to go with the D23 Sip and Stroll last month at the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival. It's a combination of things that puts this slightly as the greatest, and I mean slightly. This event was so much fun and wouldn't have been if I hadn't been in such great company. Also enjoying this great D23 event was Steve (Lancelot62 on WDW After Dark), Nancy & Wanda (fellow Music City Mouseketeers) and Raphael (who I met at the D23 Expo). Without these great friends the event wouldn't have been the same.

Dinner with Bob Gurr

The Sip and Stroll kicked off with a special dinner in the American Adventure Pavilion featuring a menu of items from around the United States. Bob Gurr, 2004 Disney Legend Inductee for Imagineering, was the special guest at this years event. What an impressive man! He's so smart, funny, kind and happy. It was wonderful to have the opportunity to chat with him. Not too many people get the opportunity to pick the brain of someone who has developed so many great attractions for the Disney Company and alongside Walt Disney. To me, speaking with Bob was the next best thing to Walt. I can't begin to explain how brilliant he is.

Chatting with Bob Gurr
The day following the dinner kicked off at the World ShowPlace with presentations from Marianne Hunnel, Michael Jenner, Chef Bart Vandaele and Chef Jens Dahlmann. After their presentations there was tastings of some of the new items, wines and Stella Artois. Then it was off to the festival to enjoy a leisurely day sampling culinary delights and tasty drink concoctions. Before ending the night with a special dessert party in a private viewing area for IllumiNations we enjoyed reserved seating for Sugar Ray. This is a band that I've enjoyed in the past, when they were touring the world with Matchbox 20, and they didn't disappoint. As you can see, I even got to sing with Mark McGrath. Thanks Raphael for shooting that photo!

Great friends, great food, great drink, great show, great presentation, great Cast Members and last but certainly not least, Bob Gurr - all make for the greatest Disney experience! By the way, Bob has a book coming out called Design: Just For Fun that he's signed and numbered the first 1,000.

  1. I would have loved to join in for the D23 Sip and Stroll - it looks like it was an amazing experience!

  2. Wow - singing with Mark McGrath - that ROCKS! (Literally!) I can't wait to show this picture to my daughter (if she ever gets out of bed!)
