A Disney Favorite Food That Everyone Like But I Don't

Some of the most popular restaurants are Le Cellier, Cinderella's Royal Table, Chef Mickey's and Rose n' Crown to name a few. Personally I like all of these. So I couldn't choose a restaurant but food is much easier. Guest favorites include the premium Mickey bar, Dole whips, school bread and the item I'll be talking about... turkey legs.

I told you it was as big as my head
I know, everyone loves the turkey legs. However this Disney favorite is not mine. It's greasy, messy, greasy, fatty, greasy and has a lot of cartilage in it. This is definitely caveman food. And it's as big as my head! Dark meat has never been a favorite of mine, which is why I skip it on Thanksgiving Day, but it's great to use the next day to make stock. I will give it credit for it's flavor. The smokiness of this turkey leg is great and when you bite in you can see the depth of the smoking, which is perfect.

January 2010, Disney's Hollywood Studios' Toluca Legs Turkey Company was my first and last turkey leg. That leaves one more turkey leg for someone else.

Are you a fan of the turkey leg or are you like me and can live without it? What is your food item or restaurant that others love but you hate? Share your thoughts in the comment section below. I've love to read them!

  2. I've never actually tried a turkey leg - at Disney, Renaissance Faire, or anywhere else. It looks like enough food to feed 3-4 people, so it seems like I'd just end up throwing most of it away.

  3. Lol! I feel the same way and I have not even tried on. Just not my think but my son polishes one off on every trip.

  4. We have never had a turkey leg, but my kids saw on the Walt Disney World episode of Unwrapped (on Food Network) someone gnawing on one and now they keep telling me they are going to get one of those. Looks like turkey legs are in my near future! I will be taking plenty of pictures of my kids eating these and will let you know what we think when we get back! :-)

  5. My kids LOVE them! To me, they don't taste like turkey - they taste like ham. I would never make a meal on one of them, but we like to buy one and all 5 of us share it. LOL

  9. I don't think I'll ever eat one of the famous turkey legs. Well, if my husband got one I would try it just to try it, but I'm not big on giant hunks of meat anyway.

  10. I'm with you - they're disgusting! But I'm also a Disney weirdo.. I don't get the same pleasure from Dole Whips or the Grand Marnier Slush..

  12. I'm a vegetarian so they gross me out anyways. Drew has wanted to try one but luckily I've been able to talk him out of it. :)

  13. Totally agree! I find them nasty and wonder what the attraction is. Oh well, leaves more for turkey leg fans. As for restaurants, I believe Le Cellier is overrated. Had dinner there a couple of times and was underwhelmed. But the pretzel bread was awesome!

  14. I must say; Every time I would go to Disney World and see the Turkey Leg cart I'd be like... "Okay, I've gotta have one of those." So I would get one, take a few bites and then it'd hit me!!! These are not really all that good!! Well, after quite a few trips of going through the same routine, I've decided that enough is enough! It's been a few years since I've ordered one and I don't plan on doing it any time soon...
