Disney Magic and Kids - Crystal Palace

By Natalie Henley of Meet the Magic

The Crystal Palace is located in the Magic Kingdom park at the left end of Main Street. Guests are invited to enjoy a buffet meal for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Excited guests pore in this restaurant to experience time with Winnie the Pooh and his friends.

My son and I visited Pooh and friends for breakfast. We were early to arrive for our reservation which was scheduled for a time before the opening of the park. I took the opportunity to take many photos as I walked the nearly empty Main Street to the Crystal Palace.

Once in the restaurant, I quickly noticed the centerpiece of the room which offers a bit of Disney themed whimsy. The buffet lines the back of the restaurant, with seating along with left and the right. Typically, there are 2 characters visiting guests on either side of the restaurant. Characters only go to a table once and it is requested that you do not visit the characters unless the character is at your specific table. (This can be difficult when you are visiting with an excited child!)

Once the characters get to you table, you are free to request signatures or photographs. If you are requesting either, be sure to prepare so the character does not have to wait. In our experience with the characters at these dining experiences, the character visits each person at the table and spends a few minutes playing or performing in some way before heading out to the next table. Here you can see that Pooh is playing train with my son:

We found that there were plenty of offering for him to enjoy from the buffet. The wait staff was attentive and helpful with any questions we had with meeting the characters. For my son, meeting the characters in this way was very special, an experience he has not forgotten.

  1. We love the character breakfast at CP; it wouldn't be a trip to WDW without it!
