ADD: Top 5 Burgers at WDW!

Average Disney Dude: Top 5 Burgers on
Walt Disney World Property!
By Aljon Go

I'm not a foodie like my wife Kristen (owner of Cooking with Mickey/host of the Disney Foodie), but I do like food. I especially love hamburgers. To me, there is nothing more satisfying than sitting down with a fat juicy burger, fries and soda... better yet a nice tall frosty mug of beer! It's the simple things in life I enjoy the most! Since Kristen's goal is to eat at all the restaurants at WDW (at this time she has eaten 53 of 78), I've been lucky enough to taste some killer burgers! Here is a list of some of my current favorites:

#5 -Blue Cheese Burger at Pepper Market -
Coronado Springs Resort

Ok. The picture is lame. However the burger is not. It's been a few years since I've had this burger but I love the combination of melty blue cheese on top of a juicy burger and lightly toasted bun. Let's not forget the salty goodness of the french fries! ($11)

#4 - Bacon Double Cheeseburger at Electric Umbrella - Epcot

Yessir! The burger on this menu is larger than it seems. That said, it is still a tasty "hamburg", as my wife is fond of saying. It does fulfill my lust for pan-fried cow with a bit of porky to boot. The latest incarnation is served with a wheat bun and your choice of fries or grapes, which is great if you want to fool yourself that you are eating "healthier." ($8)

#3 - Deluxe 1/3 Pound Angus Cheeseburger at
Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn Cafe - Magic Kingdom

Nothing says "manly" than Angus beef! At Pecos Bill's this is a true "man's man" burger. It's full of artery-clogging goodness: thick tasty patties of Angus beef, bacon and melted American cheese of beef. It even has some tangy barbeque sauce thrown in for that nice wild west feeling! The thing I love most about eating this monster burger is the toppings bar at Pecos. There you can pile your "Frankenbuger" high with sauteed mushrooms, onions and cheese sauce. If you feel a little guilty, you can always throw some sliced tomatoes, lettuce and pickle on there. Should you go for the greens you probably will go for the apple slices instead of the fries. If you do the sheriff is likely to revoke that tin star of yours. ($9)

#2 - Burger 'R' Way at Raglan Road Pub - Downtown Disney

This decadent burger was so moist and tasty from the get go and was propelled to new heights by the accompanying tomato chutney that went so well with the saltiness of the burger and cheddar! I love the whole sweet and savory thing going on with this plate. The char-grilled sirloin beef was cooked "medium" to perfection with crispy bacon, tomato chutney, and Dubliner vintage cheddar. Served with Irish style chips, or as we say in the US "fries." ($15)

#1 - Kobe Beef Burger at Yak & Yeti - Animal Kingdom

Just writing about this burger makes my stomach sweat! Kobe beef originally comes from Kobe, Japan and is one of the most high-end kinds of beef in the world. The cows are fed special feed, drink beer, given regular massages and put under very high quality controls! Although the burger is American Kobe I have heard that the treatment and quality is very similar to the Japanese version. The burger itself is a rich and tender 10 oz grilled American Kobe beef burger. It's accompanied by sesame-soy sauce, mayonnaise, and crispy shoestring fries. It's topped with choice of shiitake mushroom & scallion compote or Asian slaw. I have had both toppings and love them both! ($18)

Of course, there are many more burgers to sample at Disney World and trust me, I'll be sure to review them and update this list when necessary. Until then the hunt for the best WDW Burger continues. In the meantime, keep it real.

Cooking With Mickey

  1. What, Aljon? You're telling me that the cheeseburger at Cosmic Ray's isn't your favorite? :)

  2. Mike, the burger at Cosmic's is good, however when I'm there I, more often than not, go for the Half Chicken & BBQ Rib Combo!

  3. It looks like a trend is forming... coincidence that Pam posts a cool new article on the Disney Blog about burgers the following day? Hmmm....

    They look killer!
