Kids and Via Napoli
As you may remember from my trip review, my trip to Disney World was my husband’s first to Disney World during the holiday season. I was very excited to take him during this time of year to experience all of the decorations that Disney has to offer during the season. What I found was that he loved the meticulously light Cinderella Castle, but really could have cared less about all of the other decorations. Funnier still, I would point out decorations and he would say, I had not even noticed that it was decorated for the season. Even the Osbourne Spectacle of Lights did not impress my husband! How is that even possible you ask?!? Well, it was 30-40 degrees during our visit so maybe taking in the details while standing outside put a perspective of “whatever, let’s get inside”!
But what he was impressed with was his first visit to Via Napoli. This restaurant is very new and located in EPCOT’s World Showcase, Italy Pavilion. The restaurant surroundings are amazing, though loud as the ceiling is vaulted. Pizzas are plentiful and are wood fired in massive stone pizza ovens. My son and I had been to this restaurant on two other occasions, one such occasion was with Kristen (of Cooking with Mickey)! On my first occasion, it was just my son and I.
During my first visit for lunch at Via Napoli, my son and I chose to get the Wood fired Authetic Pizza Napoletana individual pizza. This pizza was plenty large enough for the two of us. All of the pizzas are what I call authentic Italian pizza. The crust is crunchy and thin, the sauce has a strong tomato flavor and the cheese is in “spots”. I only say this because the typical pizzas we make/purchase at home have more garlic, herbs, and cheese added than these pizzas. I love the Italian pizzas, but my son said “I like our kinda pizza better”. Following my sons measly attempt at eating the pizza, he decided he was too tired and laid down on the bench and fell asleep.
During my second visit with Kristen, I decided to get him a hamburger from the American Pavilion. Upon entering the Pavilion, I noticed my son (in his stroller) was asleep. So, off we went back to Via Napoli for a quiet meal! So, on this trip to Via Napoli with my husband, I was interested to see if my son would fall asleep. And would you know it, right as we entered, he fell asleep.

I think there is something in the air there! My husband and I enjoyed our meal in peace away from the lectures of “Please sit down on your bottom”, “Please do not spill your water” and on and on. We shared a salad and also ordered the large pizza with half being the Wood Fired Authentic Pizza Napoletana and the other half the Wood fired Authetic Pizza Napoletana. My husband was in absolute heaven! He loved this pizza so much! Apparently pizza he notices, lights, not so much! Now, I do not want you to get the impression that the place puts all children to sleep. So, while I was sitting there eating my pizza, I noticed this boy having the time of his life with his spaghetti:

He had the whole place turning heads because he was so entertaining with his noodles! Hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas season!
