Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party

On my most recent trip to Walt Disney World I decided to surprise my husband with tickets to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party which was being held on his birthday.

As you enter the park for the party Main Street the first thing you notice is the snow falling. From there you see the Castle lit with all of it's shimmering white lights that make it appear as though it is covered in a blanket of glistening snow.
There are many things to do during the party. If you feel like riding some of the most popular attractions, some of them are operating. We decided to skip riding the attractions and enjoy the Christmas festivities. Since it was a Christmas party we decided to pick up a couple of the Mickey Santa hats to wear and came dressed in red and green.

We grabbed hot cocoa and cookies which were available at Diamond Horseshoe, Tomorrowland Terrace Noodle Station, Columbia Harbour House, Pinocchio's Village Haus and a few other locations. If you prefer a healthier option they have apples and apple juice available.

There we a couple of Character Dance Parties and the one in Fantasyland had Lady Tremaine, Anastia and Drizella. I had fun interacting with Lady Tremaine who asked if I had a Fairy Godmother. When I replied no she said then there was still hope for her daughters.
Other than the characters in Ariel's Grotto we also had our picture taken with Belle and Beast in their holiday attire, Bullseye and the Country Bears. I had to get a picture with Queen of Hearts too.

We caught all the shows. First we caught Holiday WIshes at 9:30 pm which was beautiful. From there we headed to grab some cocoa before finding a spot for the parade. We went to Columbia Harbour House which had Cast Members singing Christmas Carols. I decided to join in which was a lot of fun.
From there we found a spot to catch the 10:30 pm showing of Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade. We actually had a good spot in Liberty Square. There weren't too many people in the area.
After that we made our way to the castle so that we could see the Celebrate the Season show at 11:20 pm. The 10:45 pm showing was canceled due to some rain. The only problem I had with this show was the number of fathers who were tall and put their children on their shoulders. It makes it hard for others to see especially those who are in a wheelchair or are very short like myself. I'm actually surprised that Disney allows this because it could lead to a child falling and getting hurt.

Before heading out we saw A Totally Tomorrowland Christmas Show at 11:45 pm staring Buzz Lightyear, Stitch and Mike Wasowski. The show ended with Santa Stitch and more snow.
Overall I would have to say that this was a lot of fun. I would definitely do it again if I were in Walt Disney World during the holidays.
